A Sunday Splash..
It was just a regular Sunday evening at Bangalore. I was at room, busy with regular cleaning & washing cloths. My cousin Vinod called and asked me to come to MG/Brigade road. I had booked a ticket for him for traveling to Kerala for next weekend. He wanted to collect it from me.
As always i reached there a bit late.. We walked through the crowded footpaths of Brigade road. Searched in Church Street for the newly relocated Indian Coffee house.. managed to find it at last. Had Dosas & coffee.. Suddenly it started to rain. Vinod was getting irritated and wanted to go home ASAP... Every time rain slows down he was ready to run to the bus stop & i kept on asking him to wait. Finally he said, he'd miss the bus towards his home, we decided to walk/run in the rain to the Bus stop. Managed to get a Polythene bag from a nearest shop. Covered my cellphone with that and steeped into the rain, though I was reluctant initially.
The feeling of first few rain drops amazing. After a few steps, the I realized that even at 27, some of my old childhood habits are still within me. I was just loving the rain. I was simply enjoying every step I walked, loving every rain drop that fell on me. I've never seen Brigade road footpath so much deserted at 9pm at night. We were jumping in the small puddles of water & splashing it.. There were some people who had took shelter in the nearby shops; they were looking at us as if.. we were aliens. :P Anyways I just loved it. Then, Vinod got an Auto & I hopped into a bus.
It was good end for otherwise a boring weekend. ;-)

Time to return..

A week at home...
March & April went just like that without anything specific to write here.. except a couple of regular trips to hometown. April month I was working/on-call all weekends.. Went home for Vishu for 2 days. But the whole atmosphere was dull. Somehow the festival mood was missing...
Next trip, Reached home on 2nd May 2009 morning.. This year Thirssur Pooram was on 3rd May, Sunday. I was lucky enough to spend the weekend at Thrissur during pooram.. I reached TCR around 11:30am on Sat.. Spent whole day at Paramekkavu temple 'Aanapparambu'. Thanks to my friend Vinai who helped me to get inside the entry restricted area. Clicked a lot of Elephant snaps also.. met many fellow 'Aanapranthans' too.. Then went to CMS school where Thiruvambadi temple elephants were 'parked'.. :-) They were exhibiting all the main elephants in the Thekkinkad Maidan. So my job was easy.. clicked photos of all.. light was fading and that started affecting image quality. So decided to return. Reached home by 10 and had a nice sleep at home.. Went back to Thrissur on Sunday morning.. spent whole day attending all functions.. traditional drums (Chenda & panchavadyam) are the main attractions of Pooram & of course Elephants.. All famous elephants from diff parts of kerela will be there.. We were a gang of around 10 ppl including m of my fiends and father. Had a great time there. Returned from Thrissur on Monday morning after fireworks..
That was a perfect Weekend escape for me.. after days of hard & exhaustive work..
